Can you rent a luxury car in Marrakech without a deposit? Accrocar’s honest answer: we do not advertise deposit-free self-drive. For self-drive, a credit-card pre-authorisation is standard. The amount depends on the vehicle and the length of hire. It is released after return in the agreed condition. We never promise a figure on a blog page, and we never promise a rental with no security at all.

Chauffeur-driven hire follows different contract logic: you are a passenger, not the driver, so there are no passenger driving restrictions. That does not mean we advertise “no deposit” for chauffeur either. Those terms are confirmed in writing for your dates and your car. If a page or a message promises otherwise, it is not Accrocar’s published position.

How self-drive pre-authorisation works

A pre-authorisation holds a sum on a credit card. It is not the same as a cash deposit left in a drawer, and it is not a hidden extra day of rental. Accrocar uses it as the usual security for the driver who will take the keys. The hold is sized to the car — a Porsche Cayenne is not a Rolls-Royce Cullinan — and to how long you keep it. Exact amounts appear in the written confirmation before you book, not in this article.

The card must typically be a credit card in the main driver’s name. Debit cards, prepaid cards and cards that cannot support a hold often fail at handover. We confirm accepted methods when we send terms. Do not assume a card that works for a hotel will work for a luxury self-drive hold.

What the amount depends on

From-prices for the hire itself are public: Range Rover Vogue from €449 per day, Porsche Cayenne from €389, V-Class Maybach from €550, G63 AMG from €1,090, G-Class Brabus from €1,599, Bentayga from €1,650, Escalade 600 from €1,900, Maserati MC20 from €1,900, Cullinan from €2,999. Ferrari Roma, Porsche 911 and Lamborghini Urus are price on request. The security hold is a separate line. It moves with the model and the duration. A one-day G63 is not priced like a week in a Cullinan. Accrocar will not invent a euro figure for the hold on this page.

When the hold is released

After return, Accrocar releases the pre-authorisation when the car is back in the agreed condition. Your bank then follows its own timeline to show the funds again — that part is not Accrocar’s ledger. We do not describe insurance products, excess tables or claim scenarios here. If something is not in the written contract, it is not a promise.

Chauffeur hire: different logic, still written terms

With a private chauffeur you do not drive. There are no passenger driving restrictions. The contract is not a self-drive agreement. Some guests assume that means no security at all. Accrocar does not advertise chauffeur hire as deposit-free unless that has been confirmed in writing for your booking. Ask, receive the terms, then decide. Evenings, weddings and airport legs are where a chauffeur is often the calmer product — for timing, not as a way to skip security language.

Documents we typically need

For self-drive, plan to present a passport, a valid driving licence, and often an International Driving Permit where the licence requires it. The main driver on the contract is the person who drives. Accrocar confirms the exact list before booking. We do not list every nationality’s IDP rules here — ask for yours.

• International Driving Permit when required for that licence.
• Credit card able to support a pre-authorisation, in the driver’s name.
• Contact details and the delivery address (hotel, riad, villa or Marrakech Menara).

Payment methods

The rental itself and the security hold can be two different movements on a card. Accrocar confirms how the hire is paid and how the pre-authorisation is taken when we send the terms. Do not send card numbers by casual message. If a method is not accepted for a given car, we say so in writing rather than discovering it at the hotel door.

Self-drive contract versus chauffeur contract

Self-drive: you are the driver; documents, licence and pre-authorisation apply; the car’s condition at return is your responsibility under the contract. Chauffeur: Accrocar provides the driver; you ride; the brief is addresses, timings and discretion. Mixing both — chauffeur on arrival, self-drive later — is possible when stated up front. Each period follows its own terms.

What to ask before you reserve

• Is this self-drive or chauffeur for these dates?
• What security applies, and on which card?
• When is the pre-authorisation taken, and when is it released after return?
• Which documents, and is an IDP required for my licence?
• What is the from-price for this model, and what still depends on duration and delivery?
• Where is handover — hotel, riad, villa or Menara — and what if the flight is late?
