Accrocar arranges private helicopter transfers in the French Alps through licensed operators, from Geneva, Grenoble and Chambéry airports to the altiports of Courchevel, Méribel and Megève, as well as private scenic flights from Grenoble. French rules keep leisure landings in the mountains to aerodromes, so every transfer lands at an altiport, a heliport or an airport, and the last few kilometres are by road.

Three massifs frame Grenoble: the Chartreuse, the Vercors and Belledonne. A private scenic flight takes off from an authorised aerodrome near the city and returns there.

One booking for your party alone. The operator sets the route within the airspace and the protected-area rules, and confirms the duration with the proposal.

Flying in France

What decides a flight in the French Alps

Mountain flying in France follows its own rules. These are the questions the operator answers before you receive a proposal.

  1. Aerodromes only

In French mountain areas, passengers can be set down or picked up for leisure only at an aerodrome. Transfers land at altiports, heliports and airports.

  2. No mountain drop-offs

There is no heli-skiing and no summit, glacier or chalet landing in France, and Accrocar does not arrange them.

  3. Weather

Helicopters fly by sight in the mountains: low cloud, wind or snowfall can delay or cancel a flight, sometimes on the day.

  4. Skis and luggage

Weight and space are limited. Soft bags travel best; ski bags and hard cases may follow by road.

  5. Crossing from Switzerland

A flight from Geneva to a French altiport needs prior notice to customs, which the operator gives and confirms.

  6. The helicopter

The operator confirms the aircraft available for your date, your passengers and your luggage.

The altiport is where the flight ends. The road takes you to your chalet or hotel, and stays the fallback when the weather closes the valleys.

Our role

Concierge, not operator

Accrocar acts as a concierge and charter arranger. Flights are operated by appropriately licensed third-party air carriers. Aircraft, routes, permits, pricing and availability are subject to operator confirmation.

  • Each request is quoted on its own: no fare table, no live prices
  • The proposal sets out the aircraft, the schedule, the price and the conditions
  • Nothing is booked until you approve the proposal in writing

Questions

Helicopter charter in the French Alps: your questions

Courchevel, Méribel and Megève have altiports that receive helicopters. For another resort, tell us where you are staying and the operator checks the nearest authorised landing site; the last part of the journey is then by road.

No. In French mountain areas, passengers can be set down for leisure only at an aerodrome, so the helicopter lands at the altiport, a heliport or an airport, and you continue by road.

No. French law does not allow skiers to be set down in the mountains by helicopter, and Accrocar does not arrange heli-skiing.

Yes, on request, subject to the operator. The flight crosses from Switzerland into France, so the operator gives prior notice to customs and confirms that the landing site accepts the flight.

It depends on the route, the helicopter and the weather on the day. The operator states the timing in the proposal.

Tell us how many pairs and bags. Space and weight are limited, so the operator confirms what can fly; anything that cannot can follow by road.

Safety decides: the operator can delay or cancel a flight. Plan the road alternative with us in advance, especially on a fixed arrival day.
