Ferrari 296 GTS Rental in Morocco: What the Open-Top Hybrid Can and Cannot Do

By Accrocar6 min read
Accrocar rents the Ferrari 296 GTS in Morocco from €3,752 per day. It is a two-seat, mid-engined plug-in hybrid with a folding hard top, based in Marrakech and delivered by appointment. This guide sets out what the car is good at, where it is awkward and what to settle in writing before you book.

The 296 GTS at a glance

The figures explain the car quickly: this is the Ferrari to choose for the drive itself, for one or two people travelling light.

Two seats and very little luggage

There are two seats and no rear bench for passengers. For luggage, Ferrari lists 49 litres of storage behind the seats; beyond that there is only the front compartment. Pack soft bags and ask Accrocar what will fit before the handover.

If you arrive with full-size suitcases, plan for them to travel separately. A second car from the fleet, such as a Range Rover Vogue, can carry the luggage and any other passengers.

The roof: fourteen seconds, up to 45 km/h

The hard top opens or closes in 14 seconds and does so at up to 45 km/h, so a change of weather or a stretch of motorway does not mean stopping. With the roof down, a height-adjustable glass screen behind the seats keeps the cabin calm at speed.

On a Moroccan summer afternoon, closed and air-conditioned is the comfortable choice. Mornings and evenings are when the open roof earns its place.

Electric in town, V6 on the open road

The 296 GTS is a plug-in hybrid. In eDrive mode it runs on electric power alone for up to 25 km and up to 135 km/h, which suits a quiet arrival at a hotel or riad.

Do not count on recharging during the rental unless Accrocar confirms it. The car drives normally in hybrid mode without being plugged in.

Where it works in Morocco, and where it does not

The 296 GTS is 1,191 mm tall and sits low. The motorways between Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier and Agadir suit it. Speed bumps, steep garage ramps and unpaved access roads to villas or desert camps do not.

Tell Accrocar where you are staying, so that the handover point and the access can be checked. The driving and parking guide covers city driving. Travel between cities depends on the rental agreement and should be confirmed before departure.

Price, deposit and who may drive

The 296 GTS is listed from €3,752 per day on its vehicle page. The quote then depends on dates, duration, season, delivery and mileage.

Self-drive requires a credit-card pre-authorisation in the main driver’s name. The amount is confirmed in writing, and Accrocar does not offer deposit-free rental; the deposit guide explains the process.

Only drivers named in the agreement may drive. The usual documents are a passport, a valid licence and, depending on the issuing country, an International Driving Permit. No single minimum age is published for the whole fleet, so ask for the condition that applies to this car (documents guide), and for its insurance terms and excess in writing (insurance guide).

296 GTS or Portofino?

If the trip includes luggage, an occasional third passenger or long days on the road, the Portofino guide describes the more accommodating open-top Ferrari. For the other supercars in the fleet, see the supercar guide.
